TRAFFIC ALERT: Traffic is being diverted off of Interstate 81 Northbound after a crash involving a tractor-trailer.
The interstate is closed at exit 66 with traffic backed up for several miles. According to TDOT SmartWay, the crash was reported around 3:30 a.m
Update: According to THP, one person was injured after a tractor-trailer overturned. The driver was traveling northbound in the left lane of Interstate 81 near mile marker 67 when it went into the right lane and struck a guardrail. The driver then went back into the left lane, struck a second guardrail, overturning in the grass median.
